Biography
I am Dr. Arati Vasav, a Plant Molecular Biologist specializing in plant specialized metabolism and developmental biology. I completed my Ph.D. by deciphering the genes and proteins involved in the biosynthesis of plumbagin, a key secondary metabolite, using transcriptome and metabolome guided functional approaches. My research has focused on understanding the molecular pathways that regulate the production of specialized metabolites in plants.
I have always been deeply interested in the fundamental processes governing plant growth and development, which motivated me to expand my research in this direction. I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow and a recipient of the DBT-BIOCARE Fellowship, supported by the Government of India, at IISER Pune. My ongoing work focuses on investigating the rhythmic reunion of vascular strands to uncover the mechanisms underlying vascular development and tissue patterning.
