Innovation Grants

The New Phytologist Foundation provides small grants to assist innovation and advancement in plant science. Often this will be in the form of part-support/sponsorship of a scientific meeting or awards such as poster and lecture prizes. Innovation grant applications can be received at any time of year and there is no set pro forma for these.

Preliminary enquiries should be sent to the Executive Editor. Should you wish to apply for a New Phytologist Foundation Innovation Grant, please prepare a short proposal, no longer than one A4 page, providing full details, and specifically addressing the following points:

  • The purpose of the grant. Please outline why the receipt of a grant will benefit your activity and/or the plant science community.

  • If the grant is to support a meeting or conference please provide full details, including confirmed participants/speakers and a programme or schedule, if available.

  • The level of financial support requested from the New Phytologist Foundation.

Please note that we do not provide travel grants to attend scientific conferences, other than for New Phytologist Symposia.
