New Phytologist next generation scientists is a meeting organised by, and for, early career researchers. We welcome applications from:

  • Undergraduate or Masters students
  • PhD students
  • Postdoctoral researchers and individuals with up to 5 years' experience after gaining their PhD. Career breaks do not count towards this 5 year total.

What language will the conference be held in?

All New Phytologist Symposia are held in English, and all posters should be produced in English.

Will the conference sessions be recorded?

Yes, and recordings of key sessions will be publicly available after the meeting.

I’m not able to travel to Estonia – can I still take part?

Yes, in 2022 we plan to stream all sessions of the meeting to registered early career scientists. Please complete the online only registration form to indicate if you would like to take part remotely.

I need an invitation letter for a visa, how can I obtain one?

Any delegate requiring a visa invitation letter will be provided with a letter to aid their visa application.

What catering will be provided?

During the meeting there will be coffee breaks and lunch provided. Breakfast is provided at your hotel. Evening social activities will include dinner. All catering will include vegetarian options as standard, and we ask that delegates let us know about any dietary requirements when confirming their acceptance.

What are you doing to promote environmental sustainability?

To reduce waste, the abstract book will be primarily available digitally. If you require a hard copy, including large print copies, please request this in advance. We will have posters with the talk schedule available at the venue, and the schedule will be mobile friendly. We are also working on other sustainability measures. If you have any suggestions, please contact us.
