Networks of Power and Influence: ecology and evolution of symbioses between plants and mycorrhizal fungi
The 33rd New Phytologist Symposium will be held at Agroscope in Zurich Switzerland (Agroscope, Reckenholzstrasse 191, 8046 Zurich, Switzerland). Oral presentations will take place in the main lecture hall (opposite to reception). Posters will be displayed in the poster hall.
Agroscope is part of the Swiss Federal Office for Agriculture. It consists of four research institutes focusing on topics related to agriculture, food and the environment. The Institute for Sustainability Sciences deals with research and implementation of sustainability in the agri-food sector focusing on ecology, organic farming, economics and agricultural engineering. Part of the Institute for Sustainability Sciences (location Reckenholz) is located in Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland.
The Institute for Sustainability Sciences, Agroscope (location Reckenholz) is approximately 15 minutes’ walk from Zurich-Affoltern station. As an alternative to walking we have also arranged a shuttle service (white buses marked ‘Agroscope’) which will take delegates from Zurich-Affoltern train station to the venue in the hours of 12:00–13:30 on 14th May and 08:00–08:40 on 15th–16th May, as well as a return trip in the evenings. This service is free of charge.
Public transport in Zurich is excellent and Zurich-Affoltern can be easily accessed by public transport. From Zurich-Oerlikon there are two options: bus numbers 61 and 62 go directly to Affoltern in around 12 minutes or alternatively the S6 train takes around 6 minutes and departs at 9 min. and 39 min. past the hour from Zurich-Oerlikon train station. The total travelling time from Zurich airport to Zurich-Affoltern train station is approximately 15–40 minutes, depending on departure times.
