Biography
Sasha Reed is an ecologist studying terrestrial ecosystems and how they respond to change. She draws from a diversity of fields, works across multidisciplinary teams, and studies a wide range of topics, including climate change, land use change and land management, plant-soil-atmosphere interactions, wildfire, exotic plant invasion, terrestrial-aquatic linkages, and biological soil crusts. Sasha is particularly passionate about studying deserts and tropical rain forests. Her research focuses not only on understanding and forecasting the impacts of anthropogenic change, but on discovering novel solutions to mitigate and adapt to these changes. Sasha has won numerous awards for the quality and impact of her science, and she works to actively promote inclusivity and awesomeness in research, as well as to design outreach events that share the power and the joy of scientific discovery.
