Biography

Richard Norby is an ecosystem ecologist interested in the effects of CO2 enrichment on tree growth and forest metabolism, ecosystem responses to atmospheric and climatic change, carbon and nitrogen cycling in diverse ecosystems, forest tree physiology and plant physiological ecology, and synthesis of experimental results to inform models

He is an Emeritus Research Fellow in the Environmental Sciences Division & Climate Change Science Institute, Oak Ridge National Laboratory; Honorary Professor at the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences University of Birmingham; and Research Professor in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, University of Tennessee and an Editor of New Phytologist.
