Biography

Marcelo Javier Yanovsky is an Argentine biologist and scientist, recognized for his research on photobiology and circadian rhythms in plants.He earned his Bachelor’s and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Later, he completed his postdoctoral training at the Scripps Research Institute in California, United States, working in Steve Kay´s lab.Currently, he serves as a Senior Investigator at CONICET and leads the Laboratory of Comparative Genomics of Plant Development at the Fundación Instituto Leloir (FIL). His primary research focuses on deciphering how the biological clocks of plant organisms interact with environmental factors like light and temperature to control key processes such as flowering and adaptive growth.
