Biography

Charlotte Grossiord is a forest ecophysiologist and Assistant Professor at EPFL, with a joint appointment at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL). Her research examines how trees and forests respond to climate change, with a particular focus on atmospheric drought, rising vapor pressure deficit (VPD), temperature, and their interactions with soil water availability and biodiversity. She combines experimental approaches, field studies, and monitoring networks to better understand species-specific responses and forest functioning under increasing climate stress.
