Last updated: 23 May, 2022

We are delighted to present our latest Special Issue, ‘Impact of global change on the plant microbiome’, published today in New Phytologist.

Cover of New Phytologist 234:6 - Special issue: Impact of global change on the plant microbiomePlants do not grow in isolation, but in concert with a host of microorganisms. These microorganisms may be invisible to the naked eye, but they play a key role in the future sustainability of terrestrial ecosystems.

To better understand how plants adapt to the impacts of global change, we need to understand the role of plant-associated microorganisms – the plant microbiome – in these mechanisms.

This Special Issue provides a platform for discussion on this topic and the papers in this collection are intended to highlight and further stimulate research on the functioning and role of the plant microbiota, and its interaction with plants under global environmental change stress.

New Phytologist Interaction Section Editor Francis Martin introduces the Special Issue in the video below. We hope you enjoy it.
