Winners of the New Phytologist awards at ESA 2016

The New Phytologist Trust supports the ESA Physiological Ecology Section awards for best poster at the Ecological Society of America Annual Meeting. We are very pleased to report that this year’s winners are Dileepa M. Jayawardena, with his poster entitled "Elevated carbon dioxide and chronic warming decrease nitrogen (N) uptake and levels of N-uptake and N-assimilatory proteins in tomato provided different forms of inorganic N", and Harmandeep Sharma, with her poster entitled "Variation in plant water use and environmental drivers of sap flow in sagebrush communities spanning rain- to snow-dominated elevation zones".
The Dwight Billings Award for Physiological Ecology, also supported by the Trust, was this year awarded to Kathryn V. Baker for her talk entitled "Hydraulic strategies of six co-occurring conifer species in northern Idaho during a severe drought".
Matthew Craig won the Biogeosciences Section award for best student presentation, which is also supported by the Trust. You can find out more about Matthew's research here.
