Overlooked at our peril, plants, and the benefits they provide, are fundamental to human existence and life on this planet. Plant scientists at the University of Bristol, with support from leading plant science journal, New Phytologist, want to discover the 100 most important questions for the future of plant science research – and they want your contribution.

The 100 important questions in plant science project aims to gather questions from diverse communities around the world. Contributions from all walks of life – farmers, agronomists, engineers, plant scientists, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and more – are welcomed.

100 of the questions submitted will be chosen by a panel selected from the contributors, and published in a special article in New Phytologist. In publishing these society-spanning questions, the project aims to highlight impending global challenges, to increase societal awareness of plants, and to promote greater understanding of important issues in plant science.
