Determinants of tropical vegetation structure and function

Travel

During August the weather in Accra is agreeable with low mean monthly precipitation and relatively cool temperatures (daily maximum around 28 °C).

There are good connections into Accra (i.e. either direct or with only one flight change) from multiple destinations in Europe, (KLM, BA, Lufthansa, TAP, Iberia), North America (Delta), South America (Ethiopian Airlines via Lome), Australia and Asia (Emirates/Qantas) and Africa itself (numerous direct flights to at least eight other African counties).

Visa

If you require a visa to enter Ghana, please visit https://www.ghanahighcommissionuk.com/passports/visaapplication.aspx for more information.

If you require a letter of invitation, the New Phytologist Trust, working together with our local organiser, will provide a letter of invitation upon request. To be eligible to request a letter of invitation, you must first register and pay to attend the 44th New Phytologist Symposium.

Once you have registered please contact np-symposia@lancaster.ac.uk and we will send you more information.

Due to the fact that an application for a visa can be a lengthy process, the New Phytologist Trust recommends that you start your visa application process early: 90 to 120 days prior to the conference. We would also like to note that in issuing you with a letter of invitation, it is not a commitment from the symposium or the organisers to provide any financial support, and you will still need to apply for a visa.
