New Phytologist, one of the World’s leading plant science journals (ISI Impact Factor 6.736), seeks an Editorial Assistant to be based in the Journal’s Central Office at Lancaster University. You will work closely with the Production Manager and Central Office colleagues, as well as authors, editors and Wiley Blackwell, the journal’s publishing partner, to provide an excellent publishing service to our authors and readers and to ensure timely and accurate delivery of our high-quality journal.
The primary objective of this role is to progress papers that have been provisionally accepted for publication through to final publication, and subsequent dissemination. However, you will also be involved in the promotion and development of the journal, and will be exposed to other areas of scientific publishing.
You should be educated to degree level, preferably in life sciences; experience in academic publishing would be an advantage, however full training will be given. Excellent English language, organizational and teamwork skills, attention to detail and an ability to respond flexibly to the demands of a small and busy office are essential. The post is available immediately.
