A message to our community- March 2020

Last updated: 19 Mar, 2020

The New Phytologist Foundation has been closely monitoring updates on the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. Our staff is now working remotely and while New Phytologist and Plants, People, Planet are considering manuscripts as normal, we are conscious that there may be a slight delay in handling papers due to editor and reviewer availability during this time.

We also appreciate that our community may have many pressures and challenges to face in the coming weeks, so please be assured that our Editorial Office team is on hand to help with any queries and support you may need. Please contact np-managinged@lancaster.ac.uk or ppp@lancaster.ac.uk with any queries you may have.

Second, in view of the increasing restrictions on travel by institutions and governments, the New Phytologist Foundation has taken the decision to postpone all 2020 symposia. This includes the 45th New Phytologist Symposium: Ecological and evolutionary consequences of plant–fungal invasions (Campinas, Brazil), the 46th New Phytologist Symposium: Stomata 2020 (Kaifeng, China); and New Phytologist next generation scientists 2020 (Tartu, Estonia).

This decision was not taken lightly, but we feel a duty of care towards our community of plant scientists, and our primary concern is for the health and welfare of all our symposia participants, organisers and staff, as well as the wider community. All registered participants will be notified and payments refunded. We will announce rescheduled dates as soon as possible. Please contact np-symposia@lancaster.ac.uk with any queries.

We wish all of our plant science family and their loved ones health, strength and resilience at this time, and we thank you all for your continued support.
