Lotus-Glomus

Lotus–Glomus
Roots of Lotus japonicus cv. Gifu colonized by the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Glomus intraradices. 7 µm cross sections were stained with Acridine Orange. RNA in intraradical fungal structures (hyphae, arbuscules and vesicles), the phloem and the outer root cell layers stains orange; autofluorescence (cell walls of xylem, endodermis, and walls of fungal vesicles) appears yellow.
