If you are interested in the possibility of a receiving a bursary to attend the meeting, please submit your poster abstract, together with a brief (no more than 200 word) statement indicating your position (graduate student/postdoc), reasons for wishing to attend and a supporting statement from a scientist who has agreed to act as a referee for your application, usually your group leader (please include their contact details). It is also important that you indicate the exact level of financial assistance that you would require in order to attend the meeting. This amount might well be equal to registration fees and travel costs, although applications for smaller amounts are welcome and, in exceptional circumstances, full funding will also be considered. This should be sent to Prof. Phil Rea (parea@sas.upenn.edu, and also newphytol@lancaster.ac.uk). In general, the organising committee intends to meet the needs of those who will be able to contribute to the meeting in the most able/effective manner, while maximising the number of potential delegates. |
